In this module, we explore the characteristics of successful entrepreneurs and work towards creating our own definition of entrepreneurship using the “Blue Heart” as a measuring tool. This is the first step on the journey to understanding entrepreneurship, and will allow you to gain personal insight into your own entrepreneurial profile.
What type of entrepreneur are you and why should it matter? Module 2 delves into the categorisation of entrepreneurs by type so you can gain a better understanding of what drives their decisions and actions. By getting to know what type of entrepreneur you are, you will be better equipped to create your business vision and set targets for what you want to achieve.
In module 3, you will be introduced to Raizcorp’s entrepreneurial archetypes, a key component in answering the question “Am I an entrepreneur?” The archetypes we cover in this module are unique to entrepreneurship. Knowing these personalities and identifying your own archetype will help you to understand how certain behaviours may have influenced and will continue to influence the growth and success of your business – both negatively and positively.
Module 4 debunks a number of common myths about entrepreneurship, and investigates how the business owner can manage the workload required for the business to run smoothly. To scale your business, you must be able to switch between the different roles of technician, manager and entrepreneur, while inspiring others to work for you. This module introduces you to the key learnings of Michael Gerber’s “E-Myth Revisited” and provides a model for delegation to better manage your business operations.
This module focuses on how to handle the hardships you will face as an entrepreneur. We look at the difficult path an entrepreneur walks – the rocky road – and the fears they may face that would hinder their progress. You will be introduced to reframing techniques to help you address these fears and shift negative emotions into positive drivers that feed your purpose and motivation.
Module 6 focuses on motivation and what we can do to keep ourselves motivated when we want to give up. By gaining a deeper understanding of the external and internal factors that motivate us, we will be better equipped to boost our own motivation and steer ourselves into action.
As the business owner, you carry the responsibility of making complex and important decisions to steer and grow your company. To grow, you have to rely on other people, employees and stakeholders. In module 7, we examine the challenges the entrepreneur faces in managing others and in defining their own leadership strategies. We explore how to approach decision making strategically, and how to inspire and empower others who support and work in your business.
In module 8, we wrap up by looking at power and entrepreneurship. Throughout the course, we explore how negative factors can rob you of growing as an entrepreneur. This final module shifts gears by focusing on the power dynamics you will encounter, and how you can not only reclaim your power but retain it so that you can maintain and grow your business.
